Michelle and Joseph Jacobs are American Friends whose humanitarianism and philanthropic leadership benefits students on scholarship in Israel at The Hebrew University and in the United States. They are also devoted to cutting-edge work at the university’s Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences. In June 2015, Michelle and Joseph were honored by the university as Benefactors. Engaged AFHU leaders, Michelle and Joseph have avidly supported previous national Scopus Award galas and have participated in several Palm Beach Missions.
Joseph Jacobs is the President and Co-Founder of Wexford Capital LP, a private investment firm with expertise in technology, transportation, energy, natural resources, real estate and bankruptcy. He has also served on the boards and creditors’ committees of a number of public and private companies in which Wexford has held investments. Joseph was previously a senior Managing Director of Stearns & Co., where he was responsible for the firm’s real estate investment banking activities. Earlier, he was affiliated with Citibank, N.A. Joseph holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Michelle Jacobs developed an accomplished career, becoming President of Ashfield Designs Inc., a jewelry design company in New York. She holds a degree in International Relations from Syracuse University.
Michelle and Joseph are committed to a diverse array of causes. The couple has helped to foster the activities of the Innocence Project, which seeks to overturn wrongful convictions in the United States. They are supporters of Children’s Health Fund and “I Have a Dream” Foundation. The Jacobses have adopted an inner city classroom in New York and are enabling disadvantaged students to gain comprehensive educational opportunities.
