IGNITING IMPACT

IGNITING IMPACT
Supporting Social Initiatives at HU

AFHU’s initiative, Igniting Impact: Supporting Social Initiatives at HU, is designed to expand support for Tikkun Olam programs at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

The Igniting Impact Campaign will propel social impact initiatives with a global outreach. By selecting the project that speaks to you, you will be able to identify, support, and follow your philanthropic impact.

Donors who give to the campaign will receive special project reports along with opportunities to engage with program leaders and participants. As Igniting Impact progresses, new projects will be identified and incorporated into the initiative.

THE PROJECTS
Igniting Impact will focus on three initial programs:
  • The Ethiopian Farmers Outreach Project
  • The Legal Clinic for Representation of Marginalized Communities
  • GLOCAL: MA in Community Development Internships and seed funding for alumni projects

Ethiopian Farmers Project: Advancing Sustainable Agriculture
This initiative creates an avenue for Israeli and international students to work alongside Ethiopian community elders to exchange ideas and share experiences through weekly workshops, helping to transfer knowledge between cultures and generations.

The Legal Clinic for Representation of Marginalized Communities (LCRMC)
The program helps vulnerable individuals to negotiate the policies and practices that may prevent the exercise of their rights and impinge upon their dignity. In addition to providing legal services, the LCRMC integrates academics with practical work for law students.

GLOCAL: MA IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
GLOCAL trains young professionals as community development workers. An integral part of the program is the internship where students gain the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to help improve the lives of people in disadvantaged communities.

Every dollar helps toward reaching the total funding goal for this important initiative.
