HU Response Efforts Presented by Prof. Avi Zini

On November 13, Dr. Joseph and Lori Rozehzadeh graciously hosted a reception featuring Hebrew University Professor Avi Zini, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, at their home in New Jersey. Professor Zini presented a high-level briefing about how the University community is contributing towards war efforts, including how the Dental Faculty is helping to identify victims of the terror attacks and providing dental care to those wounded.

Professor Zini offered his perspective on the war its impact on the University and its community, and how the Faculty of Dental Medicine has been offering complimentary first aid services to evacuees from the southern regions and members of the security forces. He also spoke about how some faculty from the Forensic Dentistry Unit were drafted and discussed their contributions to  the war effort.

Professor Zini concluded by speaking about the history of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and its plans for renovation and expansion, including the state-of-the-art Robert I. Schattner Oral Health Center for People with Disabilities. This center will be the first of its kind in Israel, with accessible dental facilities, supplied with adaptive and specially made equipment. Along with specially trained dental care providers, the multi-disciplinary, holistic care center will provide customized treatment to meet a wide variety of disabilities and will serve as a center of teaching excellence.
