Facing Antisemitism in the U.S. and Abroad

On Monday evening, December 17, 2018, fifty members of the AFHU community gathered at the Chicago home of the Hebrew University’s Chairman of the Board of Governors, Daniel Schlessinger, and his wife, Marcy, to hear from Ambassador Yossi Gal, HU’s Vice President for Advancement and External Relations. Ambassador Gal spoke about “Facing Antisemitism in the U.S. and Abroad,” infusing his unique perspective and experience into his analysis of the world stage. Ambassador Gal discussed migration patterns and changing demography, as well as current sociological and political phenomena around the globe, in his exploration of rising antisemitic sentiments in Europe, the United States, and beyond. Ambassador Gal also addressed the university’s unique global position, as we enter our second century, in raising awareness of antisemitism.
