Dr. Maayan Salton is an assistant professor at the Hebrew University’s Faculty of Medicine and Institute for Medical Research Israel-Canada (IMRIC) in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She is a recent recruit to the Faculty.

Dr. Salton completed her Ph.D. at Tel Aviv University and did her postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Center for Cancer Research in Bethesda, Maryland. In her lab at the Hebrew University, they are interested in the epigenetic regulation of pre-mRNA splicing and use molecular biology techniques and high-throughput sequencing to uncover the layers of alternative splicing regulation. Their previous work has demonstrated the therapeutic potential of modulating alternative splicing in cancer.
