Michelle Bernstein

Michelle is the Director of Life Enrichment at CJE SeniorLife Tamarisk North Shore, a vibrant senior community. She is passionate about helping older adults maintain their independence and dignity while enhancing their lives through support services and stimulating programs. Michelle graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Corporate Communications and Psychology and has a Certificate in Gerontology.

In addition to her professional work with seniors, Michelle is involved in Community Engagement for Simon Wiesenthal Midwest. She is an administrator for a bipartisan group combatting antisemitism, an administrator for a Chicago Facebook group supporting Israel, and a writer/advocate in support of Israel. Previous community involvement includes her role as an Auxiliary Board Member for Highland Park Hospital, a committee member for the Parkinson’s Foundation, a committee member for the Alzheimer’s Association, and a committee member for Breathe Deep North Shore, an organization combatting lung cancer.

Michelle’s efforts to combat antisemitism and advocacy for Israel attracted her to the LEAD program. Michelle stated, “I have a passion for Israel, and I would like to learn more about Hebrew University so that I can convey the vital importance of HU and Israel to building a better future for the American Jewish community and our non-Jewish neighbors.”
