USING THE LAW TO GIVE VOICE TO THE VOICELESS

Promote justice for Israel’s most vulnerable groups and individuals.

Hebrew University’s Clinical Legal Education Center (CLEC) is a leader in providing hands-on legal services to underprivileged populations. Its mission is to deepen the education of Israeli law students by exposing them to the practical realities of law “on the ground,” while also developing their understanding of how that law impacts the most marginalized and vulnerable among us.

Your support of the CLEC and similar HU initiatives advances democratic ideals—and encourages the even application of laws to all members of society.

PURSUING JUSTICE FOR ALL

Hebrew University’s Clinical Legal Education Center is fighting injustice by ensuring the law works to support everyone equally.

A MODEL FOR SERVICE

The CLEC offers legal aid to a wide range of disadvantaged individuals and groups. In addition to the immediate impact of this important work, the Center looks to the future by actively engaging law students in applied clinical and practical experience. Mentored and guided by attorneys who are experts in their fields, CLEC participants are exposed to the idea of social responsibility as an integral part of the legal profession.

ADVANCING LAW FOR SOCIAL CHANGE

From providing legal representation to clients in need to initiating policy change and legal reform, HU’s CLEC continues to advance social justice through the law. Over the years, the Center has helped thousands of families, individuals, and groups to exercise, defend, and realize their rights.

Your gift to American Friends of the Hebrew University enables continued support of the university’s groundbreaking contributions to science, medicine, technology, agriculture, the humanities, and programs like the CLEC. Thank you for helping to move us all toward a brighter future.
