June 13-19, 2025
What is the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Board of Governors’ Meeting?
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem Board of Governors’ (BOG) meeting is an annual event where board members, dedicated partners, and philanthropic supporters of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem(HU) from around the world gather to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. Activities include informative meetings, fascinating lectures, moving ceremonies, and entertaining events, all designed to showcase HU achievements related to the BOG’s annual theme.
2025 Theme: Celebrating 100 Years
2025 marks the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s 100th Anniversary. After decades of thought and over seven years of construction, the University’s official opening marked the start of a new era, setting the stage for the institution to become a beacon of academic excellence and an internationally renowned incubator of discovery and innovation. It also marked the founding of American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) and the beginning of an enduring partnership of support.
The theme of this year’s BOG, “Celebrating 100 Years” provides a welcome opportunity to reflect on the Hebrew University’s crucial role as a key national institution and a major contributor to Israel’s standing on the global stage. Join us as the University marks 100 years of excellence, commemorates its historic impact upon Israeli society, and looks forward to the future.
Over the course of the week, participants from across the globe will gather for the celebration of the century, including events such as:
