ADVANCING DIVERSITY, BUILDING A BETTER WORLD

Advance cooperation, community-building, and conflict resolution

The Hebrew University’s Center for the Study of Multiculturalism & Diversity (CSMD), employs behavioral economics to systematically advance social cooperation and cohesion. In doing so, it offers new hope for conflict resolution in Israel and beyond.

Your donation helps support programs like the CSMD, whose research is designed to identify and mitigate social divides that, left unchecked, can undermine democratic, pluralistic societies.

REDUCING SOCIETY’S BARRIERS THROUGH SCIENCE

CSMD is the first academic body in Israel — and the world — to utilize methods of behavioral science to examine the many challenges of multiculturalism. The Center’s work builds on decades of research and on Hebrew University’s status as a global leader in behavioral science and empirical legal studies.

FUTURE PATHS TO RESOLUTION

CSMD scholars and researchers work diligently to develop innovative, breakthrough policies that lawmakers, governments, and regulators can use to overcome the challenges of broken, inequitable systems. These evidence-based solutions offer a promising opportunity to reduce many of the barriers that impede social integration. Participants in clinics at CSMD come from a variety of backgrounds and schools of thought. They are poised to be future lawyers, psychologists, journalists, sociologists, and anthropologists. Collectively, their mission is to explore the intersections, tensions, and conflicts of cultural groups within society, and to offer new paths forward.

BUILDING EQUITABLE COMMUNITIES WORLDWIDE

The CSMD believes evidence-based research and sound policy can help nurture stronger, more pluralistic societies — in Israel and around the world.

Hebrew University’s Center for Multiculturalism and Diversity is working hard to create better policy for Israel by publishing rigorously researched policy papers, sharing the findings of behavioral multicultural research with legislators and regulators, and encouraging intercultural and interfaith discussions among future generations of leaders.
