August 1, 2025 – The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HU) is proud to announce a new international agreement with the Faculty of Dentistry at the Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences at the Institute of Science Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan. This agreement marks the beginning of a collaborative partnership focused on research and the mutual exchange of students and academic staff.

The Institute of Science Tokyo is globally recognized for excellence—on the QS World University Rankings 2025 Subject Rankings, its Faculty of Dentistry holds an impressive 4th place.

This milestone joins a series of significant international partnerships recently secured by HU’s Faculty of Dental Medicine. The Faculty, standing at the forefront of dental education and research in Israel and beyond, draws on HU’s long‑established global reputation, ranked among the top research institutions in the world. It blends rigorous academic training with high‑impact research and extensive community outreach.

These achievements reflect the University’s continued commitment to global scientific cooperation, even during a time when the international landscape poses growing challenges to academic exchange. In today’s polarized world, academic collaboration is more essential than ever—for building bridges, advancing knowledge, and shaping a more connected global community.

“We are proud to join forces with one of the world’s leading dental schools,” said Prof. Avi Zini, Dean of HU’s Faculty of Dental Medicine. “This agreement opens new pathways for groundbreaking research and academic growth, and reaffirms our belief that science knows no borders—even when the world feels increasingly divided. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Prof. Stella Chaushu, Vice Dean for International Relations at our Faculty, and to Prof. Takashi Ono from the Institute of Science Tokyo, who made this possible.”
