On May 4, 2016, AFHU’s Northeast Region conferred the George A. Katz Torch of Learning Award upon attorneys Meyer G. Koplow and Theodore N. Mirvis, partners at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, the firm co-founded by George A. Katz (z”l), devoted AFHU leader and friend for whom the award was named.  Luncheon co-chairs were Adam O. Emmerich, Michael G. Jesselson, Barbara A. Mandel and Rachelle Silverberg. Awards were presented by Herbert M. Wachtell, founding partner of Wachtell, Lipton. Guest speakers were Eric T. Schneiderman, New York State Attorney General, and Professor Assaf Hamdani, the Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz Chair in Corporate Law at The Hebrew University. Proceeds benefited the Clinical Legal Education Center at HU’s Faculty of Law.
