Ronald M. Zimmerman is a well-respected AFHU leader, serving on AFHU’s National Board of Directors as a National Vice President. A member of the Executive and Investment Committees, Ron headed AFHU’s Financial and Real Estate Division for more than thirty years. In addition to receiving an Honorary Fellowship this year, Ron, along with his wife Jane, is being recognized on the Benefactors Wall at The Hebrew University. In 2013, the couple received AFHU’s national Scopus Award in tribute to their humanitarian commitments and longstanding support for Israel and the university.
An engaged leader within his Great Neck, New York community, Ron served on the Board of Temple Beth-El. He was the past President of the Grace Harbor Association in Kings Point. He presently serves on the Board of Directors of Banyan Golf Club in Palm Beach and on the Board of Fresh Meadow Country Club, where he heads the Admissions Committee.
Ron Zimmerman was born in Boston, Massachusetts, where he attended the Boston Latin School and holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Tufts University. He then earned an M.B.A. from New York University following his service as an Army reservist. Ron worked in the chemical industry for ten years prior to beginning his career on Wall Street at Oppenheimer & Co. For the majority of his career, he was a Partner at Sanford C. Bernstein & Company, where he began by heading the Institutional Sales and Trading operations, as well as having the responsibility of a Senior Institutional Salesperson.
