Patricia Glaser has been a champion of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem for more than three decades. She is a Governor of the university’s International Board of Governors and received an Honorary Fellowship from Hebrew University in 2008. An energetic proponent of AFHU’s mission, Patricia has provided exemplary leadership to the organization, serving on its national board and as Vice Chairman and past president of the Los Angeles Region board. In 2013, Patty received AFHU’s national Scopus Award in recognition of both her humanitarian and professional accomplishments.
Chair of the litigation department of Glaser Weil, Patty is among the short list of preeminent business trial attorneys in the United States. She is sought after in matters of high-stakes litigation. Patty also provides general legal counsel to publicly and privately held companies in a variety of areas including real estate, contracts, antitrust, entertainment, banking and securities. Those clients include Fortune 500 companies, major studios, real estate investors and developers, financial institutions, and high-profile entertainers and public figures.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Patty earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from The American University and her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University. Upon graduation from law school, Patricia clerked for Federal District Court Judge, The Honorable David W. Williams, in the Central District of California. Following her admission to the California State Bar, Patricia joined Wyman, Bautzer, Christensen, Kuchel & Silbert, where she later became a partner. She remained with the firm until the formation of her current firm in 1988.
Esteemed within the legal community, Patty has earned numerous accolades. Chambers and Partners describes her as a “trial icon” and gives her top California rankings in both General Commercial Litigation and Media & Entertainment Litigation. LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell recognizes her as an AV Preeminent Rated Lawyer, its highest category awarded. Benchmark Litigation identifies Patricia in its ranking of “Top California Litigators.” Year after year she is included in the Daily Journal’s list of “Top Women Litigators,” and is always named to its list of “100 Leading Attorneys in California.” She is on the list of Southern California Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. Since its inception in 2005, Lawdragon magazine has recognized Ms. Glaser as one of its 500 Leading Lawyers in America. She is the recipient of the Bruce I. Hochman Maimonides Torch of Justice Award from The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles’ Legal Division.
Equally active outside the courtroom, Patty serves on the UCLA Israel Studies Program Advisory Board, the Board of Trustees for The National Judicial College and the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles’ Legal Division. A theater enthusiast, Patty produces local plays and serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Music Center Theatre Group and the Geffen Theater.
Patty resides in Century City and Malibu, California, with her husband Sam Mudie, an active entrepreneur and amateur athlete. She has two children by marriage and two grandsons.
