Michael Lobel has been an AFHU leader for decades, advancing the work of The Hebrew University’s academic and research community and strengthening Israel. He serves as a Governor of The Hebrew University’s Board of Governors and as a member of AFHU’s national board. He has fulfilled many leadership roles with AFHU, previously serving as Treasurer, Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, and a member of the Executive, Management, Investment, Audit and Compensation Committees.
Michael and his wife Tina are esteemed national Scopus Award recipients. The couple has participated in AFHU national and Northeast Region events, programs and missions to Israel. Their generosity has supported new faculty recruitment and has propelled cutting-edge research, including at The Hebrew University’s Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Lautenberg Center for Immunology and Cancer Research.
Michael Lobel recently retired from the firm he helped to found, Shapiro Lobel LLP, which specializes in business management for entertainers and tax planning and compliance for high net worth individuals.
