During Meyer G. Koplow’s 39 years with Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, he negotiated a number of the largest and most impactful settlements in recent history. He was responsible for the quarter trillion-dollar settlement between the large tobacco companies and all fifty states, played a key role in a number of the recent settlements dealing with mortgage issues, and most recently facilitated an agreement that promises to change the face of the for-profit education industry. Prior to his recent retirement from Wachtell, Lipton, Mr. Koplow served as Executive Partner, and is now building a mediation practice.
A community leader, Mr. Koplow has served as President of his congregation, Young Israel of New Rochelle, and was instrumental to the construction of its new building. He is a Trustee of Brandeis University, where he chaired the Budget and Finance and Nominating and Governance Committees. Mr. Koplow is an Advisory Director of the Metropolitan Opera and a member of its Budget and Audit Committees. He is Co-Chair of Brandeis Hillel and Chair of the DeTocqueville Society of United Way of Westchester and Putnam Counties.
Meyer G. Koplow is a graduate of Brandeis University and New York University School of Law. He is the proud father of three children, Michael, Jonathan and Aliza, and grandfather of seven.
