Lucille Amster of Fort Lee, New Jersey, has been a lifelong champion of Israel and Jewish concerns worldwide. An active member of AFHU’s national Board of Regents, she serves as an Associate Governor of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Lucille, along with her beloved husband of 56 years, Daniel (z”l), a successful attorney and real estate developer, has participated in AFHU missions to Israel.
Lucille and Daniel have fostered medical research at Hebrew University and have provided unwavering support for university students. HU Benefactors, the Amsters have provided generous support for animal welfare at the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine at the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment. Lucille will chair the AFHU New Jersey Region’s upcoming scholarship luncheon to benefit students at the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine.
A graduate of the New York University School of Education, Lucille Amster is an enthusiastic community leader. She is a member of the Board of the Jewish Home at Rockleigh in New Jersey, and an esteemed member of UJA of Northern New Jersey where she achieved the status of Sapphire Lion of Judah. The Boys Town in Jerusalem and Alzheimer’s disease research are among Lucille’s other varied humanitarian pursuits.
Lucille has also sustained a commitment to the Florida community where she and Daniel maintained a residence and participated in many Jewish communal activities. The Amsters are Benefactors of Valley Hospital and of the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, Founders Society.
