Edward G. Turan is one of the most respected and experienced in-house lawyers on Wall Street. He is Special Counsel and a Managing Director of Citigroup, responsible for managing many of the company’s most significant litigation and regulatory matters. During his 29 years with Citigroup, Ed previously served as Head of Litigation for Citi’s Investment Bank, responsible for managing all aspects of litigation arising from that business and successfully handled and resolved numerous threatening litigation and regulatory exposures. Prior to joining Citi and its predecessor companies, Ed worked at Icahn Capital Corporation, and at Fried Frank Harris Shriver and Jacobson.
Professionally active within the New York community, Ed has served several terms on the National Arbitration and Mediation Committee of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). A member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), Ed is a member and former chairman of SIFMA’s Committee on Litigation and Arbitration and the Committee on Amicus issues, as well as a past president of SIFMA’s Compliance and Legal Society. Ed serves on the Clearinghouse Litigation Committee and on the Board of Directors of the Urban Justice Center, which presented him with the Community Justice Award in 2012.
Born and raised in New York City, Edward Turan is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton Harpur College and The Fordham Law School. He began his legal career as a law clerk to The Honorable Inzer B. Wyatt of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
