Dr. Beno Michel and his wife Elaine have been involved with AFHU since the 1980s, providing staunch support for medical research and higher education at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and its Faculty of Medicine. Beno and Elaine have generously funded The Elaine and Beno Michel M.D. Graduate Scholarship Endowment Fund for Pharmacology, advancing graduate medical education.
Together, Beno and Elaine are actively engaged in fostering AFHU’s mission, hosting parlor meetings and educational events featuring Hebrew University faculty in Florida and Cleveland. Beno serves on AFHU’s National Board of Regents and is a past President of AFHU’s Cleveland Region. Beno’s dedicated efforts have helped to put Hebrew University “on the map” in Frenchman’s Creek, Florida, creating exciting new opportunities to showcase faculty achievements. Beno has been a strong proponent of and ambassador for our Annual Leadership Education Forum (ALEF) in Palm Beach. He maintains a steadfast commitment to Israel, higher education and the Jewish community.
Professionally, Beno is widely recognized in his field. He has been teaching, conducting research and practicing clinical dermatology for over 40 years. He is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Assistant Clinical Professor of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University, which he joined in 1968.
