Albert Sweet is a real estate developer and founder of Occidental Entertainment Group Holdings. He was well ahead of “The Hollywood Renaissance” when he began buying and remodeling aging buildings during the early 1980s, and turning them into beautiful and creative offices that have been home to numerous high-profile companies during the past three decades.
Under the auspices of Occidental, Mr. Sweet and his business partner, Craig Darian, preside over three dozen office buildings, a dozen sound stages, and five operating divisions that span over a million square feet and have serviced the needs of every major studio and network in the entertainment industry.
A dedicated humanitarian and philanthropist, Mr. Sweet is involved with a wide range of organizations and academic institutions, among them, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Junior Blind of America, Hadassah Medical Center, Southern Poverty Law Center, St. Anne’s Home for Unwed Mothers, Shakespeare Center Los Angeles and New Directions for Veterans. In 2012, Mr. Sweet was named a “Hero of Hollywood” by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Technion in 2014.
