On June 9, 2014,  American Friends of The Hebrew University (AFHU) paid tribute to outstanding leaders and recipients this year of honors from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.  During the celebratory dinner at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, AFHU recognized these esteemed individuals for their achievements and for their profound dedication to Israel and The Hebrew University.  Barbara A. Mandel, AFHU Honorary President, offered a special tribute to Ambassador Moshe Arad, outgoing Chairman of The Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace.  The evening’s special gust speaker was Professor Daniel Kahneman, co-recipient of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.  Professor Kahneman, a Hebrew University alumnus and a fellow at the university’s Center for Rationality, received an Honorary Doctorate from Hebrew University this June .
