The innovative Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Teacher-Scholar Science program brings great researchers and smart and motivated researchers to teach science in local Jerusalem high schools, while the other half of their time is spent working in labs at the Hebrew University’s Faculty of Science. Without these teachers, many of these high schools simply wouldn’t have science educators.

The program brings Hebrew University to the community as well as offering a great experience for high school students to learn from people conducting actual research, and engaging youth in leading STEM education. Additionally, the program enables Ph.D. graduates to truly contribute to high school teaching in Jerusalem while simultaneously maintaining their connection to the research community at the university.

In 2017, the Safra Campus hosted a day where 100 students from high schools around Jerusalem visited Hebrew University to see the different labs and ongoing projects at the Hebrew University.
