The Rothberg International School has been offering overseas students the opportunity to find intellectual challenge, artistic expression, religious bonds, political analysis and cultural activity for over fifty years, creating vital links between the people in Israel and those in the United States. Classes are taught in Hebrew, English, Spanish, French and Russian. Programs include:    
Full-Year Program: Freshman, Junior or Graduate Year
In addition, the innovative Mechina program offers pre-college curricula and serves as a "gateway of opportunity" for new immigrants to Israel.

EXCITING NEW SUMMER PROGRAMS FOR 2008

 

 

 

 

 

  • Trauma and Resilience: Theory and Practice from the Israeli Experience (July 1 to July 21) This exciting new course will include theoretical lectures, experiential teaching and site visits and aims at giving participants a broad picture of the latest developments in the trauma field and their application within Israeli society.   • The RIS Summer Institute for the Bible and the Archaeological Record: Text and Artifact (July 1 to July 30) - This Summer Institute will provide a forum for investigations into the history of Ancient Israel from her beginnings to the destruction of the First Temple by the Babylonians, based on both the archaeological evidence and the written word.   • Archaelogical Field Schools will be offered during the Summer of 2008 at the following locations: Tel Beth Shemesh, Tel Dor, Hazor, Khirbet Qeiyafa and Kfar HaHoresh. Details can be found here.     
We have a new Summer Institute, called the Summer Institute for Israel Studies (June 27 to July 25). The Summer Institute for Israel Studies is comprised of two sections:
The Emergence of the Modern State of Israel (45 academic hours, 3 credits) This required core course includes field study trips, guest lectures and symposia

Four Elective Courses
(30 academic hours, 2 credits).

Study Load: All students must enroll in the core course, The Emergence of the Modern State of Israel, giving them the opportunity to participate in the field trips and guest lecture series. Enrollment in Elective Courses is at the discretion of the participant.

ANNOUNCING A NEW M.A. PROGRAM
We have new M.A. Program in Community Leadership and Philanthropy Studies which is offfered in conjunction with The Hebrew University in Jerusalem's Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare.
   
This unique program will offer students a broad perspective in the management of non-profit and communal organizations and in the rapidly developing area of philanthropy. Students may specialize in Jewish Community Leadership as well as take courses offered through the other M.A. Programs in the Rothberg International School, including Jewish Education and Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies.  For more information click here
