Northeast Region Hosts Donor Recognition Ceremony at Lotos Club
On May 11, 2006, American Friends in AFHU's Northeast Region were honored at a Donor Recognition Ceremony held at New York City's Lotos Club. The evening's guest speaker, Hebrew University alumnus Richard Z. Chesnoff, a senior correspondent for U.S. News & World Report, addressed attendees on the topic of Israel's precarious position in the Middle East and The Hebrew University's importance to the future of the Jewish State.
Co-chairs for dinner were AFHU's incoming Greater New York Region President Martin E. Karlinsky, and New York Regional board members Richard Kahn, Frances Katz and Elana and Aryeh Bourkoff. Special guests included Harvey Krueger, former chairman of the The Hebrew University Board of Governors and current co-chair of the International Campaign Committee; Greater New York President Richard D. Weinberg; and Professor Eyal Ben Ari, director of The Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at The Hebrew University.
