David Brooks
A columnist for The New York Times since 2003, David Brooks is a former senior editor at The Weekly Standard, a contributing editor at Newsweek and the Atlantic Monthly, and a regular commentator on PBS television’s "The Newshour with Jim Lehrer."
He previously served as editor of the op-ed page at The Wall Street Journal, where he began his newspaper career as a reporter covering Russia, the Middle East, South Africa, and Europe. His articles have appeared in such publications as The New Yorker, New York Times Magazine, Forbes, The Washington Post, Commentary, and The Public Interest. Mr. Brooks edited the recently published anthology Backward and Upward: The New Conservative Writing, and is the author of two books: Bobos In Paradise: The New Upper Class and How They Got There and On Paradise Drive : How We Live Now (And Always Have) in the Future Tense. He holds a degree in history from the University of Chicago.
