Dear Friend,

Hotel De La Ville atop the Spanish Steps in Rome and the historic King David
Hotel in Jerusalem.

While in Israel, mission participants are invited to enjoy the exciting activities surrounding
Hebrew University's 70th International Board of Governors Meeting,
Friday, June 1 - Wednesday, June 6, 2007.
AFHU's National Spring Mission will have as its distinguished scholar-in-residence Professor Sergio DellaPergola, director of the Institute of Contemporary Jewry
at The Hebrew University. We will experience a privileged view of Rome in all its
unique aspects, including Jewish and Christian Rome, as capital of an empire and
as a treasure trove of Renaissance art, music, architecture and literature. We will
be warmed by the hospitality of leaders of the Italian Jewish community. And for
a special treat: Canadian Friends of The Hebrew University and American Friends
will be together at various points in our action-packed itinerary.
Our journey to Israel includes VIP receptions, dinners and high-level briefings
with Israeli leaders who will provide the latest information about the Middle
East. Hebrew University experts will expand our knowledge of subjects ranging
from biomedicine to Jewish Studies. Students from diverse fields will share their
perspectives and plans as Israel’s budding leaders and innovators.
A formal invitation is forthcoming. For advance details or for pre-registration,
please contact Diane Romirowsky at AFHU’s national office, phone 800-567-AFHU
(2348) x.8544 or by email: dromirowsky@afhu.org. Participants may join the full mission itinerary,
Rome and Jerusalem, or select one of those remarkable destinations.
Discover why The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is a beacon for Israel and
the world.
