Over 175 guests were enchanted by the divine transformation of Brindell Gottlieb’s hilltop estate in Bel Air for the ‘Night Made in Heaven’ fundraiser for scholarship for Hebrew University of Jerusalem students. At this year’s Bel Air Affaire on September 10, 2011, AFHU honored the dynamic community leadership and philanthropy of Irena and Mike Medavoy with the presentation of the Humanitarian Torch of Learning Award. The Bel Air Affaire was chaired by Renae Jacobs-Anson and Dr. David Anson, and Helen Jacobs-Lepor and Dr. Norman Lepor. Honorary chairs for the evening were AFHU Western Region Chairman Richard S. Ziman along with Western Region Vice-Chair Patricia L. Glaser and her husband Sam Mudie. As in previous years, Brindell Gottlieb transformed her home into a heavenly affair replete with angels and haloed servers. Guests included Hebrew University Vice President for External Relations Ambassador Carmi Gillon and newly appointed Israeli consul-general to Los Angeles David Siegel. . Guests enjoyed performances by the LA Opera and Center Theatre Group and thrilling acrobatic dance performances by the Diavolo Dance Theatre.
