Endowed funds may be named in honor of the donor or a designee. The donor or designee receives periodic program and financial reports on the fund. You may wish to establish an Endowment Fund for scholarships or for a special purpose at The Hebrew University by creating a bequest in your will or your Revocable Living Trust. The bequest may be also added to an existing endowment fund established during your lifetime or that of a loved one.
The minimum required to establish an endowed fund is $100,000; additional gifts may be made to enlarge the fund. AFHU endowed funds are invested in a diversified portfolio and supervised by an investment committee. The donor may designate the academic area in which the award will be made or allow the University to award the grant each year according to its current priorities.
AFHU offers a wide variety of endowment opportunities, including, but not limited to:
Chairs | Lectureships | Doctoral Fellowships | Graduate Scholarships | Undergraduate Student Aid
Donors' names of endowed gifts of $1 million are inscribed in lasting honor on the Benefactors Wall. Donors of $100,000, known as Guardians, are recognized on the Wall of Life. Both walls are atop the Hebrew University's Mount Scopus Campus overlooking the city of Jerusalem. The Trustees Wall recognizing gifts of $50,000 and the Founders Wall for gifts of $25,000 are in the Central Forum of the Mount Scopus Campus.
